DC127 works with several great organizations around the city that provide mentors to kids in foster care.
Being a mentor is a way to be a stable adult in the life of a child or teen who is experiencing a lot of instability.
We also have a mentoring listserv where mentors of teens and kids in care can connect, share ideas, and support one another.
If you’re mentoring, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to join the group.
Recommended Mentoring Organizations:
DC Family and Youth Initiative
Family and Youth Initiative works to connect caring adults with teens who are at risk of aging out of the foster care system.
BEST Kids develops and supports meaningful one-on-one relationships between foster care youth and caring, consistent adults.
